When are injectors used instead of splash plates?

Injectors are used most of the time (around 98%) for applying liquid manure and biosolids. This method places nutrients below the soil surface, enhancing nutrient availability, reducing odour, and minimizing surface runoff.

Splash plates are used in specific situations, usually when fields are very rocky or when working on new farms with lots of surface residue or debris that makes injection difficult.
